How do I cut an edge counter tile without renting a wet saw
l have 1 edge counter tile on my kitchen island that has cracked. l do not
know if this tile is porcelain or ceramic, but l did find the exact
replacement at Home Depot. But now l have to cut it down from 6'' wide, to
3 7/8'' wide. Now this is the edge tile that is ''L'' shaped, and l was
told that l could not use a basic tile cutter, and that l needed to rent a
wet saw at about $40 for the min. 4 hrs. To me, that is a bit too much just
to cut 1 tile! Is there another store that would just cut my tile, or is there a way l can cut it myself? I've already tried scoring it with a glass cutter but with no success. Any ideas anyone? Thanks.
Call your local Lowes or Depot and see if they offer cutting
services. Some stores do and they only charge a small fee. A co worker
once told me it was something like $1 a cut
hack saw
If you have a grinder just use a masonry blade, slowly run the
blade over the cut line over and over like you were scoring it, it is not
like you have a lot to do, you might want to try it on the broken one
first.
